Threshold feedback

During biofeedback training you define in which direction a reading should change and from when the feedback counts as a success. In the eSense App you control this via the feedback direction and – for video feedback – via thresholds that take effect in real time.

Feedback direction (setting the goal)

In the settings you choose the feedback direction: “Decrease” or “Increase”. This determines what counts as a success. With relaxation training using the eSense Skin Response, for example, the goal is to decrease skin conductance; the feedback then responds positively when the value moves in the chosen direction.

Response time (sensitivity)

With the response time you set how sensitively the feedback reacts. “Short” responds to every small fluctuation, while “Medium” and “Long” smooth out the behaviour and are suited to longer measurements.

Real-time thresholds for video feedback

With video feedback, the sharpness, brightness and saturation of the video can be controlled by your reading. You can let the feedback type run automatically or set a lower and upper limit (threshold) manually. The values are interpolated between these limits. Since version 8 of the eSense App, these thresholds take effect in real time, so that the video responds to your values immediately.

The “No feedback” option simply lets the video play through without being influenced by the readings.
